Aldactone (spironolactone) is a potassium-sparing diuretic used to treat conditions such as heart failure, high blood pressure (hypertension), edema (fluid retention) due to heart, liver, or kidney disorders, and primary hyperaldosteronism. It helps the body eliminate excess fluid while retaining potassium, and is often used when other diuretics cause low potassium levels.
Spironolactone 25mg: Reduces fluid buildup (edema), lowers blood pressure, and helps manage heart failure by blocking the effects of the hormone aldosterone.
Treats edema associated with heart failure, liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, or certain lung conditions.
Lowers blood pressure and reduces the risk of cardiovascular events.
Manages primary hyperaldosteronism (a condition of excess aldosterone).
Helps maintain normal potassium levels.
The typical starting dose for adults is 25–100 mg per day, taken as a single or divided dose, depending on the condition being treated.
Dosage may be adjusted by your doctor based on response and medical need.
Take with or without food, but consistently in relation to meals.
Adults with heart failure, high blood pressure, edema, or primary hyperaldosteronism.
