Alphagan P Eye Drops 0.15% are a prescription ophthalmic solution containing brimonidine tartrate, a selective alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. It is indicated for lowering elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension and is formulated with a gentle preservative system for improved ocular tolerability.
Use only as directed by a qualified eye care professional. The usual recommended dosage is one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart. Wash hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip. If using other eye medications, allow at least 5 minutes between applications.
Clinical studies have shown that brimonidine tartrate effectively reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing aqueous humor production and enhancing uveoscleral outflow, supporting its role in the management of glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
The formulation includes ophthalmic excipients and a stabilized oxychloro complex preservative system designed to maintain sterility and break down into natural tear components after administration.
