Before using, check this product visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the liquid. Before injecting each dose, clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol. Change the injection site each week to lessen injury under the skin.
Inject this medication under the skin in the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm as directed by your doctor, usually once every 7 days.This medication may be used with or without meals.
Subcutaneous injection dose:
• Starting dose: 0.25 mg, once weekly, for 4 weeks. This dose is only a starting dose, and is not effective in controlling blood sugar levels.
• Maintenance dose: 0.5 mg, once weekly.
• If glycemic control is not achieved after at least 4 weeks of 0.5 mg, the dose may be increased to 1 mg, once weekly.
• If glycemic control is not achieved after at least 4 weeks of 1 mg, the dose may be increased to 2 mg, once weekly, which is the maximum dose.
